Rounding Rap 2

Everything is more fun to learn when there is a rap song or hand motions attached to it! Here is a song we are going to use in class on Friday to help with rounding! I can't wait!

Our Class Motto

In social studies, we have been learning about our Kentucky state motto and decided to write a class motto- one we will live by for the rest of this school year! The students had such wonderful ideas and I believe some have a future in marketing!

So here it goes- our new class motto is: Dream, Believe & Achieve

I think each one of our classmates is capable of achieving their dreams if they believe in themselves and work hard! Our motto will be displayed every single day on our new LED sign, which was donated to our class by a parent this year- thank you!

States of Matter Experiment

In science, we modeled what molecules look and act like when they are a solid, liquid, or a gas. Great job group two for being our first group to model this! Our experiements were pretty exciting with a few explosions! We observed the three states of matter with our task!

Properties of Matter Experiment

We discussed the properties of matter in class and then had a mini-experiment to apply what we know about those properties. Students had to use some of their senses to infer what was inside the boxes. After we collected data and made our predictions, we took a peek inside and boy were they surprised!

Science and Math Journals

We started our science and math journals this week! The first three pages are dedicated to a Table of Contents and then we number the rest of our pages on the front side only. Students will write on the front side of their pages. We do that so when their journals are open, the right side is for them to reflect and make comments while the left side is for the teacher to make comments. Our first entry was entitled "what does a scientist look like?" Our journals this year are going to be used for math also!
