Twister Grid Coordinates

I took a Twister game and revamped it a little to play a new version of Twister. I used black electrical tape and put a grid over the colors and wrote in the origin. Then I took the spinner board and wrote in the x and y coordinates for the students to place their hands and feet. It was fun to play!

Story Structure Dance

Story Structure Dance

There are hand motions for each part of the story structure: exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution. This video is taken from another teacher's blog and we have used this in our class this week to learn about story structure. Hopefully soon, I will be able to post our own video of this- it has been fun!

PBS Student News Site

Here is another cool site I found with news for students and some cool resources for teachers!www.pbs.org/newshour/extra/

Daily Student News

I have been searching for sites that students could access and have daily news information. Here is the first cool site I found: http://www.cnn.com/studentnews/

It has a new ten-minute story every day! It is geared for middle and highschool students, but I think upper-elementary school students could use it as well.
