We recently took an amazing trip to Hawaii in our science class to help a lost hiker (me) find her way back to her party of tourists, using a topographic map! We could smell the sweet smell of coconut and hear the ocean waves crash while we were figuring out the elevation levels of the contour lines on our maps!
This is Studio 214, our fourth grade classroom, where I will post cool websites, provide classroom information on upcoming events, and post pics of what we are learning in our class!

Minute to Win-It Games
During snack today, we played a minute-to-win it game and students had to get the oreo into their mouths only using their face! We had some great laughs!
Geologists at Work!
We went on a rock dig recently and students used properties of rocks and minerals to figure out what type of rock they found during their dig. Then they named their new rock and created a special power for their rock, for fun!
Suesical the Musical- Coming Soon!
We had some special guests today to read a favorite Dr. Seuss book and to invite all our Panthers to come watch the upcoming musical presented by BAFA! We can't wait to see it!
Plate Tectonics
We have been studying plate tectonics and how they are moving in the mantle underneath the crust. We used a tangerine to understand how the plate tectonics cover the core and how there are pieces underneath the crust that are constantly shifting and moving. This was a cool visual for students to understand fault lines and what the plate tectonics would be like on the Earth.
Sharpen the Saw- Acting!
We sharpened our saw on Friday and our performers were given a bag of props and they had about ten minutes to create a skit using the props and then acted it out in front of our class. It was really funny and they were so creative!
