This week, we previewed our assessment over our second learning target in science in this unit and students identified any vocabulary words they were unfamiliar with and wrote them in their vocabulary notebooks. Then we used dictionaries to look up the meanings of these words and put the definitions into our own words. Students also created an image to go with each word- an image that would help them remember what the word actually means. Many students had not used a dictionary in quite a while, so we reviewed how to use guide words to find what we were looking for quicker.
Students also identified any topics they feel they have not mastered yet and will complete lessons next week, based on what they feel they still need to learn more about. They will get their vocabulary notebooks back to study, along with a study guide, so they can study for our test next Friday.
